In 1:1 Somatic Attachment Sessions, we use a blend of talk and body awareness prompts to bring awareness to how the nervous system processes information and experiences. This work helps to make sense of and discharge the physiological stressors that were stored during past moments of overwhelm.
Somatic Attachment Sessions can support healing from shock trauma, like accidents and frightful experiences. It’s also a powerful tool for addressing emotional trauma.
How Do Somatic Attachment Sessions Work?
While there will be talking during a session, we work mainly with how the body processes that information. Often this leads to a physiological release of held stress responses, as well as a deeper relationship with self.
Occasionally, a session may be a standalone experience to process something presenting in the moment. But more often, the benefit of this work is cumulative. While some sessions may provide insights and relief, others will be more subtle as we work together to build safety and trust to learn how your system processes information.
